Hello NewStory Family & Friends,
SUNDAY SERVICES MOVED TO ONLINE
JOIN US ONLINE
In addition to our Live Stream Sunday Service at 11AM, we will also make these service recordings available 24/7 afterwards. Our Student Ministries are also crafting several extracurricular resources to accompany these family-style online worship experiences. More details to follow.
Thank God for technology! We’re so thankful our church can worship together virtually, for the time being, even if we can’t be together in person.
CHURCH BUILDING TEMPORARILY CLOSED
For the remainder of March and until further notice, we will also exercise the same abundance of caution and compassion as we attempt to “flatten the curve” for our community by closing our building. (but again, remember – the church “building” may be closed ... but Christ’s church continues onward and forward!)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
We also want to address some immediate questions you may have:
Q: Has anyone at NewStory Church tested positive for Coronavirus?
As of today, there are no known cases of Coronavirus reported by anyone attending or affiliated with NewStory Church. However, global experience is showing that social distancing is one of the best protections against the virus, which has the potential to spread rapidly in communities. This is one of the main reasons why we have proactively and prayerfully chosen to temporarily move our services online for the next few weeks.
Q: I’m leading / participating in a Small Group. Should we still meet?
We encourage each group to please pray and use their own discretion following health guidelines referenced above. In addition, we recommend all Small Groups (adults, high school and junior high) to meet together online and continue to support each other. In this digital age, you can continue to find community, care, prayer, and fellowship, even at a distance! There are a number of tools to help you - Google Hangouts Meet, GroupMe, What’sApp, Zoom, and more. Let’s be the church and continue to support each other like family online!
Q: Will the church building be closed and services online beyond March?
The short answer is we don’t know yet. The situation with the Coronavirus is changing rapidly, and we’re committed to closely monitoring the situation to make those decisions prayerfully and carefully in the coming days. In the meantime we will adhere to the 3 agencies recommendations to help deter and alleviate the spread of the virus in Jesus’ name.
Q: How will NewStory Church keep me updated?
We will be posting all updates to this page. We will also send frequent updates out via email, mobile app notifications and social media.
Friends, I want you to know that the decision to transition our Sunday services is NOT one made out of fear, but a spirit of wisdom. As I shared this past Sunday – We are called to neither over-react or under-react ... but to always respond with love and wisdom. In uncertain times, we are committed to look to Jesus and draw confidence from our loving Abba Father who is sovereign over all things. Never forget: God is in control and He is good.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
(2 Timothy 1:7)
I realize this is a difficult time and your daily lives may be in flux as workplaces, schools, and day-to-day activities shift. In the midst of this unprecedented uncertainty, please remember to draw your confidence from Christ, alone.
I love you all and can’t wait to worship together again, in person, soon. Until then, I will continue to pray for you daily and I’ll see you online this Sunday at 11AM!
With Christ's Love,
Lead Pastor, NewStory Church
